GB CH Buus's Hi Ra Hailey

Bred in Denmark by Lisbeth & Rikke Buus, Buus’s Hira Hailey joined us as a puppy in 2017, bringing with her a distinguished pedigree. She is the daughter of Avigdor Zsa Zsa Gabor and Demetriu Bruce, carrying forward some of the most cherished and classic Tibetan Spaniel bloodlines.

Hailey quickly made her mark in the show world. In 2019, she won her first Challenge Certificate (CC) at the Tibetan Spaniel Association Championship Show, judged by breed specialist Juliette Cunliffe, in a record-breaking entry of over 200 Tibetan Spaniels. That same year, she also earned Reserve CCs at Crufts and Southern Counties.

Despite the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Hailey returned to the ring in 2021 with renewed success. She secured her 2nd and 3rd CCs under breed specialists Guy Hazelhurst and Caroline Borrett, and her 4th CC—along with Best of Breed (BOB)—at Bath, under respected all-rounder Jeff Horswell.

Her achievements extended beyond the UK. In Ireland, Hailey earned 7 Green Stars (CACs) in strong competition.

 

Highlights include:

• BOB at the All-Ireland Tibetan Breeds Association Show (2019)

• BOB at the Oriental Breed Club (2019)

• Reserve Best in Show at the Tibetan Spaniel Association of Ireland (2022)

 

Temperament & Personality

Hailey is the embodiment of a classic Tibetan Spaniel—not just in appearance, but in spirit. She has a wonderfully “old-fashioned” temperament: loyal to those she knows, and discerning with newcomers who must earn her trust. Exceptionally intelligent and quick to learn, she’s a joy to live with and plays a nurturing role as a “nanny” to younger dogs in our home.
